The daily running of the stables, safety and the wellbeing of both horses and the people who live with them are the foundation of every project. Understanding everyday routines, meeting fundamental needs, facilitating care and maintenance, and anticipating risks inform the design from the earliest sketches. Architect, designer and rider
A rider since childhood, Nicolas Bischoff makes horses part of his everyday life. His experience working in stables informs his attention to practical needs, the quality of architectural design and the wellbeing of horses.
His career has taken him from France’s national stud service, the Haras Nationaux, to Timothy Court & Company in Australia, then to 2Portzamparc and AW² in Paris. Through this work, he developed experience in equestrian architecture, major projects and luxury hospitality, which he now brings together in his own practice.
